I just received word that KaEskwela is in need of donations for the children in Wawa, Montalban. The KaEskwela organization (which is comprised of mostly adults) have personally (through me) asked for the UPD ROTC's help in collecting donations for the children whose school there (which they visited)has been flooded. More info about the KaEskwela group can be found at brigadaeskwela.multiply.com/The cadets and officers may join the team who will visit the area to give the relief goods once this second typhoon Pepeng has passed. Please pass on the word, and save some of the relief goods you may collect for these children in Wawa, Montalban. Thank you.

Updates also on where you can volunteer: Go to the Church of the Risen Lord in UP and register there. Austin Ong is one of the regular volunteers there and he texted me that they are in need of more donations. Since I have been there and seen that there is an overcrowding of volunteers in the afternoon, I suggest you guys go there early (mga 0700H). Or, what would be more useful is if you collect donations from people in an area and then bring it to the Church of the Risen Lord. Sometimes, there are teams from the CRL that distribute the goods or have soup kitchens in the affected areas. So Austin Ong is the cadet to go to. xD(Go Austin!!!)
Important Note: Bring your UP ID. Some people are suspicious because there have been scammers going around. Also, don't forget to introduce yourself, tell them what your purpose is, and SAY THANK YOU, even if they didn't give. Most likely a lot of them already gave to other organizations or have relatives who were affected by the bagyo, so please be considerate.
Another way you can help is by spreading this message. Try collecting from your barangay and enlist the aid of relatives and friends from your neighborhood to volunteer their time and effort.

DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY SCIENCE AND TACTICS UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES DILIMAN
Quezon City, Metro Manila
THE WORST IS STILL TO COME TO THE TYPHOON VICTIMS. The long-term effects of the typhoon like illnesses has started due to the weather condition, lack of nourishment, lack of medical attention and lack of proper sanitation and other attendant reasons. Most, if not all of the victims cannot recover immediately on their own because there are no locally available livelihood and employment opportunities.
FOR THESE REASONS, WE MUST CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THEM! That is why we set up a continuing relief campaign by soliciting your most needed donations.
Suggested donations:
a. Cash
b. Food (coffee, biscuits, bottled water, canned goods, rice)
c. Clothing (for all ages, clean and wearable shirts, shorts, pants and undergarments)
d. Footwear (slippers, sandals and any shoes)
e. Beddings (blankets, sheets, pillows, mats)
f. Toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothpaste/brush)
g. Medical supplies (Paracetamol, Mefenamic acid, vitamin C, antibiotics, ointments, bandages, band aids, iodine solution, alcohol, etc.)
Please drop-off your donations at Room 105, 1/F Vanguard Building from 9am to 10 pm starting 05 October 2009(Monday) .
Our medical team will be conducting medical mission as soon as possible. Assistance and supplies are also highly appreciated.
Maraming maraming salamat po! Pagpalain kayo ni Bathala.
